RADM chemical data requirements

As part of the National Acid Precipitation Assessment Program, a major effort to develop an Eulerian regional acid deposition model suitable for assessing source-receptor relationships has been undertaken at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. The initial task of the project is the development of a modeling framework integrating an existing and evolving meteorological model with a new transport and chemical transformation model. Part of the effort involves making the best use of available field data to evaluate and further develop RADM. An in-depth understanding of the existing data bases not only provides information on how to establish model evaluation criteria, but also furnishes guidelines for future field observation programs.
