Organic emission standards for light-duty methanol-fueled vehicles: A methodology

Conference · · Proc., Annu. Meet., Air Pollut. Control Assoc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5713222
In the first section, a linear model to predict the ozone-producing potential of methanol vehicles is developed. The model is used as the basis of an evaluation of three alternative organic emission standards. In the second section, likely concentrations of methanol and formaldehyde (two primary emissions from methanol vehicles) in street canyons, tunnels, public and personal garages, and on expressways are predicted based on existing methanol vehicle emissions data. These concentrations are them compared to the concentrations of toxicological concerns.
