Sensitivity of third sound to the /sup 3/He effective mass in /sup 3/He-/sup 4/He superfluid mixture films

The sensitivity of the velocity of third sound to the /sup 3/He effective mass in /sup 3/He-/sup 4/He mixture films is discussed. If we accept the validity of the Sherrill and Edwards model for the /sup 3/He binding energy, we find m/sub 3//sup *//m/sub 3/approx. =2.1.
