Energy and symmetry of states in light nuclei

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. C; (United States)
The symmetry properties of low-lying eigenstates of s-shell nuclei are examined, and the lowest energy state is shown to be completely antisymmetric, which corresponds to the physical ground state. Green's function Monte Carlo methods may therefore be applied without the rapid increase in noise usually associated with fermion systems.
