Investigation by XPS of the electronic structures of the n = 1,2,3 Aurivillius phases

The Aurivillius phases of order n = 1,2,3 have been investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It is found from these measurements that there are no obvious electronic similarities between these phases and the structurally related HTSC layer compounds.
