Title: Synthesis and physical properties of FeV/sub 2/O/sub 6/

Journal Article · · Inorg. Mater. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5700423

In the interest of producing effective catalysts and thermistors, the authors investigate the physical and thermal properties of vanadium oxide compounds. The synthesis conditions are examined, and the first series of specimens was investigated by x-ray, thermal, and thermophysical methods. The derivatograms for heating and cooling in an argon stream are shown. Conditions for the synthesis of the polycrystalline compound FeV/sub 2/O/sub 6/ have been established through investigations of the thermal properties in air and in an inert atmosphere. The electrical properties are examined as well. Magnetic ordering has been detected at 11 K.
