Maintenance

Book ·
OSTI ID:56983
In this chapter we have briefly discussed maintenance as a part of an energy management program. An effective maintenance program should include some elements aimed at reducing energy costs and/or increasing the amount of production available from a given amount of energy. Serious thought should be given to the people involved in maintenance: how many, who, and how they should be treated. Sufficient support equipment must be provided as part of regular maintenance costs. Microcomputers should be considered, both for data storage and retrieval and for use with expert systems for diagnosis of complex equipment.
