N,N linkage isomerism of Ni(II) complexes of 1,8,9,20tetrahydro-3, 6-dimethyl-1, 8-diphenyldibenzo-(c,m)dipyrazolo(3,4-f', 3'-j)-1,2,5,8,9,12-hexaazacyclotetradecin

The structure of two isomeric Ni(II) complexes of 1,8,9,20tetrahydro-3,6-dimethyl-1,8-diphenyldibenzo(c,m)dipyrazolo(3,4-f:4', 3'-j)-1,2,5,8,9,12-hemaazacyclotetradecin (II and III) has been established with the aid of C-13 NMR spectra. A method for distinguishing the five- and six-membered chelate rings in N,N linkage isomers of Ni(II) on the basis of C-13 Nmr is confirmed in the example of the isomers of amine(-1(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3,5diphenylformazanato)nickel(II). The PMR and mass spectra, as well as the IR and electronic absorption spectra, of complexes II and III have been presented and discussed.
