Department of Energy needs to improve the timeliness of the third annual reports on Title I of the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5695916
The Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA) requires that States and nonregulated electric utilities report to the US DOE annually (each November) until 1989 on their consideration and determination of progress in the 11 PURPA standards. Within 6 months of this report deadline the DOE must compile a summary of these reports and submit it to Congress and the President. The need for up-to-date information in the reports received by DOE and for timeliness in the report submitted by DOE is reviewed with recommendations for achieving these two reporting objectives.
