Studies related to speckle pattern and holographic interferometry are discussed, taking into account an analysis of rotating component strains using electronic speckle pattern interferometry, the optimization of holographic interferometers, the holographic interferometry of concrete, an application of holographic interferometry for the investigation of microroughness of engineering surfaces, and a holographic evaluation of ultrasonic stimulated medical instruments. Subjects in the area of image processing are also explored, giving attention to real time spatial filtering and pseudocoloring by light scattering, coherent optical techniques for transonic wind tunnel measurements, imaging properties of random phase diffusers for coherent imaging systems, and a method of holographic subtraction of images due to phase shift introduction by means of object longitudinal displacement. Other topics considered are concerned with measurements using lasers, laser physics, laser control over electrochemical processes, and a design method for optical thin film systems.
