Journal Article · · Shale Shaker; (United States)
OSTI ID:5693407
The study area includes N. Seminole County and portions of Pottawatomie and Okfuskee counties, which are in the Greater Seminole District of central Oklahoma and in the NW. part of the Arkoma Basin. The subsurface stratigraphy, structure, and conditions of oil accumulation of Desmoinesian and older rocks in the Seminole Area are discussed. Subsurface structure maps, isopach maps, and cross sections, constructed using information primarily from electric logs and sample logs are presented. The stratigraphic section, which embraces the Pennsylvanian to the Ordovician, has been penetrated by hundreds of wells. Well cuttings were examined under binocular microscope to establish familiarity with the stratigraphic sequence.
