The authors propose an algorithms for calculating the absolute yield of delayed neutrons--both the total emission and the discrete groups--using the simplest methods based on the application of systematics and of the semiempirical formulas of the five-Gaussian fission product mass distribution. Within the framework of their statistical model the corrections for the shell and pair effects can be determined from the maximum values of the compound nucleus fission energy. Yields are calculated for targets of thorium 232, uranium 235, uranium 238, plutonium 239, thorium 233, uranium 236, uranium 239, and plutonium 240.
