Dual fuel carburetion system and method
An apparatus is described for mixing air with a gaseous fuel for application to a combustion chamber comprising: a mixing chamber having an air passageway adapted for fluid communication with a source of air, a fuel inlet aperture adapted for fluid communication with a source of a gaseous fuel, and an outlet aperture adapted for fluid communication with a combustion chamber; air valve means for restricting the passage of air from the air passageway to the chamber outlet aperture responsively to engine venturi vacuum, the air valve means including a piston slidable in a cylinder and having an axial passage in fluid communication with the fuel inlet aperture; and fuel valve means located within the axial passage for restricting the passage of gaseous fuel from the fuel inlet aperture to the chamber outlet aperture responsively to movement of the air valve means.
