Title: The niobium phosphate bronze. beta. -K sub 2 Na sub 2 minus x Nb sub 8 P sub 5 O sub 34 , second form of the first member of the series (K sub 3 Nb sub 6 P sub 4 O sub 26 ) sub n KNb sub 2 PO sub 8

Journal Article · · Journal of Solid State Chemistry; (USA)

A new niobium phosphate bronze {beta}{minus}K{sub 2}Na{sub 2{minus}x}Nb{sub 8}P{sub 5}O{sub 34} has been isolated. Its structure was solved by single crystal x-ray diffraction for x = 0.27. It crystallizes in the space group P{anti 4} m2 with a = 10.612(1) and c = 6.384(1) {angstrom}. This phase is the second form of the first member of the series (K{sub 3}Nb{sub 6}P{sub 4}O{sub 26}){sub n} KNb{sub 2}PO{sub 8}. The structural relationships with other members of this series and especially with K{sub 7}Nb{sub 14}P{sub 9}O{sub 60}(n = 2) are discussed.
