Apparatus for controlling an idle speed of an internal combustion engine
An apparatus for controlling an idle speed of an internal combustion engine is described comprising: an oxygen sensor outputting a signal corresponding to a concentration of residual oxygen in the exhaust gas; means for varying an air-fuel ratio of a mixture to be supplied to the engine; means for feedback controlling the varying means to make the air-fuel ratio closer to a desired air-fuel ratio in response to the signal from the oxygen sensor; means for sensing a condition of the engine and outputting a signal corresponding thereto; means for deciding whether or not the feedback control means is to be executed in response to the signal from the sensing means; means for detecting an idle condition of the engine; means for adjusting a flow rate of the mixture; means for driving the adjusting means according to a decision of the deciding means when the detecting means detects the idle condition of the engine.
