Stop sniping at regulators, NRC's Gilinsky warns industry

Criticism of regulations as the cause of problems may be ill-advised because the public has less confidence in the safety commitment of the nuclear industry than it has in the regulators, warns commissioner Gilinsky of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The NRC maintains a minimum safety standard which the industry cannot afford to ignore, given current public apprehensions about nuclear power. (DCK)
