The greening of public opinion in Europe during the 1980s was passionate, and in the 1990s it will be proactive. The challenges to harness natural resources while protecting the environment, about to present acute new problems with unification in 1992, are in some ways not unlike those facing the individual states of the USA. In this issue, Energy Detente gives a wide-angle view of some of Europe's problems and solutions. This issue also includes the following: (1) the ED Refining Netback Data Series for the US Gulf and West Coasts, Rotterdam, and Singapore for April 5 and April 19, 1991; and (2) the ED Fuel Price/Tax Series for countries of both the Western and Eastern Hemisphere, April 1991 edition. 3 figs., 10 tabs.
