Phenolic antioxidants have proven the best inhibitors of oxidation in the storage of hydrogenated jet fuel. In some combinations (packages) of additives, a synergistic effect has been noted. This study investigates whether the antioxidant content in jet fuel can be reduced by exploiting the synergistic effect. An additive package of Ionol, Mannich base of Ionol (MBI), and aromatic amine is given. The efficiency of each alone, then together, is tested. Chemical stability of the fuel is rated according to acidity, optical density, and peroxide number. The results show differences in temperature and concentration. Ionol and aromatic amine turn out to be the most effective antioxidant. In conclusion, additive packages with a content of .0015% in the fuel have greater antioxidant effect than Ionol. For example, alone at .0030%, thus reducing the content of antioxidant in the fuel.
