Decay of Z into three pseudoscalar bosons
- Department of Physics, University of California, Riverside, California 92521 (United States)
We consider the decay of the Z boson into three pseudoscalar bosons in a general two-Higgs-doublet model. Assuming m{sub A} to be very small, and that of the two physical neutral scalar bosons h{sub 1} and h{sub 2}, A only couples to Z through h{sub 1}, we find the Z{r_arrow}AAA branching fraction to be negligible for moderate values of tan{beta}{equivalent_to}v{sub 2}/v{sub 1}, if there is no {lambda}{sub 5}({Phi}{sub 1}{sup {dagger}}{Phi}{sub 2}){sup 2}+H.c. term in the Higgs potential; otherwise there is no absolute bound but very large quartic couplings (beyond the validity of perturbation theory) are needed for it to be observable. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
