{tau}{r_arrow}{eta}({eta}{sup {prime}})2{pi}{nu}, 3{pi}{nu} and the WZW anomaly
- Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky 40506 (United States)
It is found that the branching ratio of {tau}{r_arrow}{eta}{sup {prime}}2{pi}{nu} is two orders of magnitude smaller than that of {tau}{r_arrow}{eta}2{pi}{nu}. The branching ratio of {tau}{r_arrow}{eta}{pi}{pi}{pi}{nu} is calculated. The theoretical result agrees with the data. It is the first time that the anomalous Wess-Zumino-Witten vertex {eta}aa is tested. An a{sub 1} resonance is predicted in the final state of the three pions. A prediction of the branching ratio of {tau}{r_arrow}{eta}{sup {prime}}{pi}{pi}{pi}{nu} is presented. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
