The problem of the acquisition of axial rotation by a planet during its growth is analyzed. The values of the regular and random components of the axial angular momentum are determined by time-dependent mass and velocity distribution functions of bodies. It is shown that the relatively large inclinations of the rotation axes of the planets and the reverse rotation of some of them are due to the large value of the random component of the axial angular momentum. The dependence of the specific axial angular momentum on the planet's mass found for planets not slowed by tidal interaction agrees with the observed dependence.
