Searches for rare decays of eta and eta' mesons and for light Higgs particles

Upper limits are estimated for the relative probabilities of rare decays of eta and eta' mesons: BR(eta..--> pi../sup 0/..mu../sup +/..mu../sup -/)<6 x 10/sup -6/, BR(eta'..--> pi../sup 0/..mu../sup +/..mu../sup -/)<7 x 10/sup -5/, BR(eta'..-->..eta..mu../sup +/..mu../sup -/) <1.5 x 10/sup -5/, and BR(eta..--> pi../sup 0/..mu../sup +/..mu../sup -/..gamma..)<3 x 10/sup -6/ (90% confidence level). These are several orders of magnitude lower than the limits obtained earlier. The existence of light Higgs particles with mass less than 409 MeV has been excluded on the basis of analysis of the decay eta'..-->..eta..mu.. /sup +/..mu../sup -/.
