Neutral weak current effects in the scattering of polarized leptons on polarized nucleons in nonminimal gauge models
Gauge models of the electroweak interaction with the symmetry groups SU(2)xU(1), SU(3)xU(1), and SU(2)/sub L/xSU(2)/sub R/xU(1) and the quark-parton model are used to study polarization, charge-polarization, and charge electroweak asymmetries in the deep inelastic scattering of ultrarelativistic polarized leptons with energy E = 10--500 GeV on polarized nucleons. It is found that for all these types of asymmetry, except for charge asymmetry in the case of an initial lepton with positive helicity, the results of the SU(3)xU(1) and SU(2)/sub L/xSU(2)/sub R/xU(1) models are close and markedly different from the predictions of the standard model. The differences grow as the energy of the scattered leptons increases and they are maximal at the maximum values of x and y.
