Angular distribution of the muons emitted in the internal conversion of. gamma. quanta from prompt fission fragments

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Nucl. Phys. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5666509
An angular anisotropy in the muonic conversion of ..gamma.. quanta from prompt fission fragments is predicted. It consists in the preferred emission of the muons along the axis of the relative motion of the fragments and in the inequality of the conversion probabilities for the directions along and opposite to the direction of motion of the heavy fragment. The magnitude of the effect is estimated.
