A gas fuel carburetor is described for an internal combustion engine having an air intake means including an intake manifold downstream of an air throttling means, comprising: a housing through which engine intake air flows, including end an air inlet and an air/fuel mixture outlet end, and an air flow conduit extending between the ends; a gas fuel manifold chamber within the housing; a gas fuel receiving means in communication with the manifold chamber; valve means for controlling the supply of gas fuel between the manifold and the air conduit, the valve means including relatively movable port and plug elements, relative movement between the port elements varying the effective port opening of the valve means; actuating means for the valve means.
