CUA is the Controllable Unit Approach to Material Control. It is a system being developed to help NRC with regulations for implementing the absolute performance criterion for controlling SNM in nuclear facilities. Purpose of this slide presentation is to provide a detailed demonstration of the CUA methodology. A performance criterion was defined, a hypothetical process was defined, and a closure equation network was developed and modified until the performance criterion was met for four diversion types.
