This volume contains a sampling of the papers presented at the Cements Division meeting at the 95th Annual Meeting and Exposition of the American Ceramic Society, held in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 18-22, 1993. The meeting brought together a group of scientists and engineers who are actively working on industrial, applied, basic, and environmental issues related to cement-based material. Sixteen papers are included in this volume. Topics include optimization of the chemical composition and preparation of cements, mechanical properties of cements, and responses to the environmental effects of cements.
