Laser spark ignition and extinction of a methane-air diffusion flame

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5650378
Laser sparks have been used to ignite and extinguish a methane/air diffusion flame. Simple shock models of strong explosions and convective transport appear capable of accounting for the probabilities of ignition and extinction as a function of the position of the spark.
