Alternative fuels, fuel additives, and related devices for highway vehicles: R, D and D proposal guidelines
DOE's Office of Transportation Programs (TP) is responsible for developing new technology which will help decrease US dependence on and eventually replace petroleum as the major fuel resource. Guidance and criteria for the preparation of proposals to the Alternative Fuels Utilization Branch (AFUB) of the TP are provided. Alternative fuels, fuel additives, and engine/vehicle hardware that relate specifically to alternative fuel(s) handling and management are the specific concerns of the AFUB. Accordingly, there are unique requirements for proposals to the AFUB. Test data requirements for alternative fuels, fuel additives, extenders, and alternative fuels and related devices and systems are presented. A summary of submission requirements is included.
