Characteristics of inductive magnetic levitation system with monopolar train loops

The behavior of the monopolar vehicular coil-type superconducting levitation system is analyzed by the steady-state periodic solution method. It is shown that this system behaves in the same way as the conventional system as regards lift force, drag force, and lift-to-drag ratio. It is also shown that the magnetic force is always positive and sufficiently strong (larger than damping time constant of 1 sec).
