What can we learn about inelasticity from cosmic-ray studies

We present the recent status of inelasticity [ital K] in high energy hadronic collisions. In particular, we elucidate some points concerning the possible energy dependence of [ital K] emerging from cosmic ray data and provided by a representative sample of theoretical models.
