Translational spectroscopy of metastable fragments produced by dissociative excitation of carbon disulphide

The production of the [ital S]([sup 5][ital s]) metastable state by electron impact dissociative excitation of carbon disulphide is reported. Kinetic energy distributions of the sulphur fragments determined by the method of time-of-flight spectroscopy are also presented.
