Large nickel alkaline batteries

Large batteries in the range of 2000 Ah can be made on the basis of existing technology used in cells of medium size (100 - 250 Ah) as long as this technology shows that only engineering capability is involved and not necessarily research. This approach applies properly to systems such as lead-acid, nickel-zinc, nickel-cadmium and nickel-iron and silver-zinc. Although this paper deals with nickel alkaline batteries, it may be relevant to compare them to a well established system, like lead-acid, and to a very specialized system, like silver-zinc.
