Handbook of industrial gas utilization: engineering principles and practice

Book ·
OSTI ID:5641209
A handbook on the design of gas-fired equipment for industrial and commercial applications is presented. It covers both the theory and the practice of industrial gas engineering. The theoretical chapters present a concise treatment of the relevant aspects of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, flame structure and combustion. Later chapters cover general principles of burner and furnace design, the application of mathematical modelling, and the details of specific applications ranging from air-conditioning to metal melting and from steam raising to ceramic firing. Safety requirements and energy conservation are given particular attention. (LCL)
