Neutrino capture and related problems: The capture cross section in /sup 69,71/Ga

Calculations of the ..nu..-capture cross sections of /sup 69,71/Ga based on microscopic treatment of the Gamow Teller matrix elements are presented. A strong enhancement of the cross sectio for high energetic neutrinos is found compared to previous phenomenological estimates. The important implications for a gallium neutrino detector are discussed.
