A standing wave acoustooptical mode locker working on the second harmonic

Journal Article · · IEEE J. Quant. Electron.; (United States)

The authors found experimentally that LiNbO/sub 3/ and a dense flint glass acoustooptical modulator can work at the second harmonic, and they proved theoretically that this kind of piezooscillator (transducer) might have a nonodd harmonic. With the use of the second harmonic modulator, the second harmonic mode locking of the Ar/sup +/ laser has experimentally been demonstrated.
