Status of Strategic Petroleum Reserve activities as of June 30, 1983

The Department of Energy reported that the Strategic Petroleum Reserve contained 332.5 million barrels of oil on June 30, 1983. During the third quarter of fiscal year 1983, 20.7 million barrels of oil were added for a fill rate of 227,000 barrels per day. This report discusses a number of significant events which occurred during the quarter and which affected the Reserve. It also discusses the progress being made in filling, developing, and operating the Reserve.
