Book ·
OSTI ID:5632515
Fairfax County has been divided into five radon potential categories based on maps of geology, soils, and aeroradioactivity; indoor radon concentrations from1,000 homes; soil-gas radon sampling and surface radioactivity measurements. In areas categorized as high, more than 50% of homes may be expected to have indoor radon levels above 4 pCi/L in short-term wintertime tests. In areas categorized as low, about 10% of homes may be expected to be above 4 pCi/L.
