Interaction of plutonium(iv) with mono-n-butylphosphoric acid in nitric acid solutions and in the system 30% TBP + n-dodecane

The methods of elementary and spectrophotometric analysis at the temperature 22 + or - 2 degrees C were used to investigate the interaction of mono-n-butylphosphoric acid (MBPA, H/sub 2/B) with Pu(IV) in nitric acid solutions and in the system 30% TBP + n-dodecane. The conditions of formatin, solubility, and composition of precipitates of MBPA with Pu(OV) were investigated; the effective stability constants K of complexes of Pu(IV) with MBPA of various compositions were determined. The results of the studies are discussed in comparison with the interaction of Zn(IV) with MBPA in nitric acid solutions and in the system 30% TBP + n-dodecane.
