Mild hydrocracking with a catalyst containing non-hydrolyzable halogen

Patent ·
OSTI ID:5628851

This patent describes a process for mild hydrocracking oil. The process consists of contacting the hydrocarbon oil under conditions of elevated temperature and pressure with a particulate catalyst comprising at least one active metal component on a support material containing a zeolite having at least one non-hydrolizable halogen component, the conditions being such as to yield about a 10 to about at 50 volume percent conversion of the hydrocarbon oil fraction boiling above 700{sup 0}F to hydrocarbon products boiling at or below 700{sup 0}F and wherein at least 85 volume percent of the hydrocarbon products boiling at or below 700{sup 0}F boil in the midbarr circle R 1 range from about 300{sup 0}F to about 700{sup 0}F.
