Ultrashort pulses and compensation of intracavity dispersion

Journal Article · · Chin. Phys.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5628418
It is necessary to compensate the dispersion completely within the required wavelength range in a mode-locked laser cavity for obtaining ultra-short pulses. Operation with no dispersion can be achieved by appropriate design of films coated on mirrors to match the medium inside the cavity. In this way, ultrashort-pulses can be obtained.
