Numerical solution of the drift wave equations by means of invariant imbedding

Journal Article · · J. Comput. Phys.; (United States)
The method of invariant imbedding is applied to solve the system of differential equations for the collisionless drift wave in a sheared magnetic field in the case of finite ..beta../sub i/. Eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are found. Invariant imbedding is found to be fast and accurate, overcoming the precision problems inherent in the ordinary shooting method.
