Included in this summary are the results of the Basewide Energy Systems Plan for Fort Campbell, Kentucky. This plan includes an analysis and recommendation of energy conservation projects for the reduction of the installation`s present energy consumption. The installation should be aware that the savings figures presented in this summary can only be realized after all projects have been implemented. Black Veatch has developed projects that would meet funding requirements for the energy conservation program. Furthermore, the recommended projects provide partial compliance with the energy conservation requirement for the installation as outlined in the Army Facilities Energy Plan. This summary presents data on the following: (1) Existing energy consumption; (2) Source energy reductions due to energy conservation techniques applied to building systems (3) Application of solar energy to reduce fossil fuel consumption; (4) Savings utilizing central energy monitoring and control systems (EMCS); (5) Use of solid waste as an alternate energy source, and (6) The analysis of Total Energy/Selective Energy (TE/SE) systems.
