The USGS Devonian Shale Characterization and Resource Appraisal Program was subdivided into 8 active and one dormant project in FY/1978: stratigraphic studies, structural studies, geophysics-borehole gravity, geochemistry, condonont maturation and paleontology, trace element studies, clay mineralogy, data storage, and resource appraisal.
