An exploratory test program was designed to determine the expansive potential of portland cement mortar due to internal sulfate attack initially moist-cured at high temperature. Expansion of cement mortars made with six different portland cements was measured. The effect of different test parameters, such as, pre-storage time, curing temperature, type of sand, sand/cement ratio, specimen size and pre-treatment, on expansion behavior was determined.
