Straight hole mud motor runs improved ROp and cut costs

Journal Article · · World Oil; (United States)
OSTI ID:5615905
Proper planning and prudent use of downhole motors and diamond bits for straight hole drilling can result in significant savings, and at the same time, be faster than conventional rotary drilling. This article presents a case history of how one operator was able to cut costs per foot by 36% while increasing penetration rates by an average of 106%.
