Determination of the plasma boundary in a tokamak from magnetic measurements

The problem of continuing a magnetic field up to the plasma boundary is solved numerically in two formulations: with a given external confining field and when it is difficult to distinguish an external field, e.g., when there is an iron core. An effective computational algorithm has been developed for processing the data of magnetic measurements to reconstruct the boundary of the plasma column. The accuracy of this method and its capabilities are illustrated in calculations for the INTOR and the T-15.
