Semi-realistic interactions for scattering from nuclei

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5606248
It is of considerable interest to understand data from nucleon-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus scattering in terms of the individual nucleon motions and interactions, and to relate them in detail to other information. Work along these lines with a realistic interaction is reviewed under the following topics: the effective interaction, properties of the effective interaction, simplified effective interactions, density dependence of the interaction, applications to nucleon scattering, double folding for composite projectiles, applications to alpha particle scattering, and applications to heavy-ion scattering. Typical results are shown for /sup 60/Ni + n, /sup 60/Ni + p, ..cap alpha.. + /sup 40/Ca, /sup 16/O + /sup 40/Ca, /sup 40/Ca + /sup 40/Ca, and /sup 16/O + /sup 28/Si. 17 figures, 1 table. (RWR)
