Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5606123
The Circuitron Corporation site has been proposed for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) National Priorities List (NPL). The site is located in East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York. Circuitron operated a circuit board manufacturing facility between 1961 and 1986. Based on information reviewed, the site is of potential public health concern because of the potential risk to human health resulting from possible exposure to volatile organic compounds and heavy metals at concentrations that may result in adverse health effects. Potential human exposures to these contaminants may be occurring or may have occurred in the past through ingestion, inhalation or direct contact with contaminated groundwater used as a source of drinking water, direct contact with contaminated soils on-site, or inhalation of soil vapor that may have impacted nearby structures. The site is being considered by ATSDR for follow-up health activities. Specifically, ATSDR will be considering this site for inclusion in the trichloroethane subregistry.
