One of 2 strings of tubing contains a sucker rod string and the other contains the viscous oil being produced. A viscoelastic material is injected down through the tubing string containing the sucker rod through a hollow portion of the lower sucker rod through channels in the plunger to the space between the plunger and the pump barrel. An upper part of the plunger is smaller than the bottom part to permit the injection of the proper thickness of the film of the viscoelastic material. (9 claims)
